Electric wire manufacturer to restructure and lay off 20 % of its workforce

Austria, Pernitz: Due to fierce competition and challenging market conditions, ASTA, an Austrian electric wire manufacturer, is planning restructuring which will see a reduction of jobs.

According to the plan, around 20 % of the approximately 320 employees at ASTA Oed will have to be laid off, which means that eight out of ten jobs will be maintained, reports Meinbezirk.

As part of the restructuring, the company plans to increase efficiency and productivity through a new process-oriented organizational structure and implementation of simplified processes.
