2016-11-8

Canada, Ontario: The power plant that heats and cools much of downtown London in Ontario, Canada, while generating power is in for a major expansion.

The London District Energy plant will be expanded with a second facility able to generate 17.9 MW of power, and for this purpose a new $32 million (CAD 42 Million) transformer station will be built to feed the generated power into the London Hydro grid, reports LFP.

The project will accommodate future residential growth downtown, said Vinay Sharma, London Hydro’s chief executive.
