Kolektor Etra to supply power transformers for Dong’s 448MW project

 Slovenia: Kolektor Etra has been granted a deal to supply transformers to the offshore substation for Dong Energy’s 448MW Borkum Riffgrund 2 project in the German North Sea.

The installations begin in 2017 with building the substation’s jacket foundation with the topside following in the second quarter of 2018.

The deadline for the start of the offshore construction is July 1 2018, but it will probably start in the first quarter of 2018.

Borkum Riffgrund 2 will be situated 34km north of Borkum island, consisting of 52 turbines to the west and four to the east of the 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 project. The project includes 56 MHI Vestas 8MW machines with rotor spans of 164 metres. The turbines will be installed by Fred Olsen Windcarrier.

The completion of the Borkum Riffgrund 2 project is expected for the first half of 2019.
