Toshiba T&D India to invest $30M more in manufacturing facility

 India: Toshiba Transmission & Distribution Systems (India) Pvt Ltd (TTDI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Toshiba Corporation Japan, plans to invest an additional $30 million into its Hyderabad factory by 2017, aiming to turn the facility into a global manufacturing hub.

The new investment will be made on the back of the $30 million investment made on enhancing the transformers production capacity and capacity to manufacture new technology switchgears, reports The Hindu.

TTDI executives said the investment proposed will add to the product range.

TTDI was formed after Toshiba Corporation acquired the power and distribution transformers and switchgears business from Vijai Electricals in December 2013.
