Siemens to supply 27 transformers for Iraqi power grid

 Germany: Siemens has successfully type tested the first 132 kV 72/90 MVA power transformer for Iraq that will serve for the stabilization of the country’s national power grid.

The transformer has been developed on the basis of the contracts awarded to Siemens by the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq, including two contracts for the construction of substations, the manufacturer said in a statement.

These include 27 power transformers 132 kV, 72/90 MVA which are being manufactured in Trento, Italy.
