Reinhausen Australia donates OILTAP® M and GRIDCON iTAP®

Reinhausen Australia (RA), the Australian subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen (MR), has donated an OILTAP® M and a GRIDCON iTAP® to the new Transformer Innovation Center that was recently established at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia.
This new innovation and training center will share knowledge on the subject of transformers, tap changers, and accessories, thus serving the needs of industry and vocational training.
The aim of the Australasian Transformer Innovation Center is to carry out industry-driven, practical research in the field of transformers and develop progressive innovations. Asset management experts from the industry will exchange ideas with academics and students from leading Australian higher education establishments, and will develop strategies for the future so that they are in a position to
RA’s Managing Director Dr. Thomas Smolka and Service Specialist Alan Brown will give lectures on the subject of tap changers twice per year, which will be aimed at both students and industry representatives.
The center is the brainchild of Prof. Simon Bartlett, who holds the "Electricity Transmission Systems" chair at the University of Queensland. Professor Bartlett was the chairman of CIGRÉ in Australia for many years and is an active member of the A2 Study Committee in Australia.
The center has been operated since August and will be opened officially in a few weeks’ time.
