ABB to supply $16M hybrid substation to Marocco

 Marocco: In cooperation with Energie Eolienne du Maroc, ABB will be supplying a $16 million hybrid substation for a wind farm developed by Nareva in Morocco.

The substation will include a switchgear, power transformers, instrument transformers, surge arresters, substation automation system and protection and control, reports ReNEWS.

With a capacity of 225/33 kV and the flexibility to be upgraded to 400 kV, the substation is being designed to withstand the challenging weather conditions of the desert and the marine air conditions, the company added.

Once completed, the substation will be connected to the coutry's national grid.
