Wisconsin co-op to repair transformers using $87M USDA loan

 USA, Wisconsin: Dairyland Power Cooperative is one of the announced 82 electric projects in 31 states to receive a loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The western Wisconsin utility was awarded an $87 million loan through the USDA's Rural Utilities Service, which will cover maintenance projects includingpower transformer work, turbine work, and everything else that assists in the reliability and the efficiency of power plants, reports WPR.

All of the projects funded by the loan are part of Dairyland's normal schedule for maintenance and improvement.

Part of the funds will be specifically allocated for new technology to increase efficiency on the grid.
