New substation for 2018 World Cup facilities in Samara

Russia, Samara: Samara distribution networks is starting the construction of a new 110 kV substation, which will be the main feeding centre for the city sports facilities and the 2018 World Cup, including the new Samara Arena soccer stadium.

At the new Stadium substation two power transformers of 40 MVA each will be installed, reports Volga News.

The utility will also build 110 kV transmission lines to connect the new substation to the grid, which is planned for 2016-2017.
