Two Brattleboro’s power transformers to be replaced
2016-11-28
USA, Vermont: Vermont State regulators have approved a $3.65 million substation upgrade project to boost the capacity, reliability, and flexibility of Brattleboro’s electrical system.
Local utility Green Mountain Power will upgrade two outdated power transformers at South Brattleboro substation, one of which is 54 years old, and the other 28 years old, reports The Commons Online.
The utility’s plan is to replace those with one new and larger transformer, with the construction scheduled for next year.
During the works a temporary transformer will be installed nearby, so electrical service will not be disrupted during the nine-month project.
