NV Energy building two new substations in Lyon County

 USA, Nevada: Two new NV Energy substations are being built in south Lyon County with an aim to alleviate reliability and capacity issues in the area.

The new Mason Valley and Smith Valley substations, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, will be ready for operation by next summer, reports Reno Gazette-Journal.

After the new substations are up and running, the more than 40-year-old Bridge Street and Anaconda substations in Yerington, as well as the Smith Valley substation, will be de-energized and dismantled.
