Nigeria to evaluate substations and power lines nationwide
2018-1-15
The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency has announced it will commence a nationwide technical monitoring and evaluation of power lines and substations.
The evaluation program will primarily include 33 kV feeder lines and associated injection substations with the supply source from 330 kV transmission substations, reports Punch.
NEMSA said the evaluation is important as stable supply of electricity can be achieved through the 33 kV primary feeder lines to the 33/11KV injection substations and subsequently through the 11 kV feeder lines and associated distribution transformers before getting to consumers.
This exercise should also help identify the high risk and technical loss points along the 33 kV feeder lines.
