2016-12-26

The Philippines, Manila: National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) received approval for the construction of the $91 million 230 kV Navotas substation project in Manila.

The substation with power transformers and associated electrical equipment will have an initial capacity of 2x300 MVA, which will help address thetransformer overloading issues at N-1 contingency, reports Manila Standard.

“The installation of additional transformers or development of new substations is essential in order to meet NGCP transmission capacity requirements,” the Energy Regulatory Commission said when approving the project.

The proposed substation project should also improve voltage regulation.
