Luxembourg: The European Investment Bank (EIB) has signed four finance agreements totalling €285 million ($310 million) with Greece to support the development of various energy projects in the country.

The funding will be used to enhance the electricity transmission and interconnection network across the country, reports Energy Business Review.

Specifically, the funds will support implementation of power projects such as installation of fossil fuel fired plants on 18 Greek islands which are not connected to the mainland grid, with all associated equipment and infrastructure.

Also, the electricity transmission and interconnection of the Cyclades islands to the mainland network will be enhanced.
