Siemens to deliver ten transformers for mobile substations in Iraq

Germany: Siemens has received a contract from the Korean company LSIS for the delivery of ten power transformers for mobile substations in Iraq.

The total order of about €4 million also includes spare parts.

The end customer, the Ministry of Electricity of Iraq (MOE), currently has to deal with an unstable grid due to reconstruction and restoration of existing substations and needs a temporary replacement to help maintain a safe and reliable power supply during reconstruction or maintenance works.

The ten 132/33-kV 31.5-MVA transformers of the YNd1 type will be delivered in April and May 2016.
