Japan voices its reaction on EU’s anti-dumping duty on steel imports
2015-11-13
Japan, Tokyo: The Japanese Ministry of Finance (JISF) has commented on the anti-dumping measures imposed by the European Commission on grain-oriented electrical steels (GOES) imported from Japan.
“It is inappropriate and regrettable that the Commission has concluded that the domestic industry in the EU has been injured by imports of grain-oriented flat-rolled products of silicon-electrical steel from Japan, and decided to enact the anti-dumping measures,” said the ministry, reports Steel Orbis.
During the anti-dumping investigation conducted by the Commission, the Japanese steel industry stated it believed that their exports of GOES had caused no injury to the domestic industry in the EU.
The Japanese steel industry announced it will carefully study the EU’s decision and determine a proper course of action.
