2016-7-13

Australia, the Gold Coast: The Gold Coast’s electricity grid will receive an $18 million (AUD 25 million) revamp ahead of the 2018 Commonwealth Games.

As part of the project, the 45-year-old Mudgeeraba Substation will be upgraded with a new power transformer, new fencing and a new control building, reports myGC.

“This $25 million upgrade will improve the performance and reliability of Powerlink’s transmission network in the Gold Coast region, not only for the Games itself, but for many years to come,” announced Treasurer Curtis Pitt.
