2017-8-11
India, Vadodara: The Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Limited (GETCO) is planning an investment of $1.7 billion to build 400 new substations and add 10,000 circuit kilometres of transmission line by 2021-22.
As part of the five-year plan, GETCO will construct 80 new substations, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, and add more than 2,000 circuit kilometres of transmission line per year, reports The Times of India.
The capacity addition in the transmission network is planned through a system study carried out by the state transmission utility under GETCO taking into account parameters such as load growth, upcoming generation, reactive power management, voltage profile, requirements of power distribution companies and seamless integration of renewable energy.
