Foxconn might get $140 million electricity project

 USA, Milwaukee: American Transmission Co. will seek state approval for a $140 million project in order to run electrical power to the huge manufacturing complex that Foxconn Technology Group plans to build in Racine County, Milwaukee.

The massive plant of this contract electronical equipment manufacturer is expected to draw an enormous amount of power — enough to serve 170,000 households, reports Journal Sentinel.  

To provide that much electricity, the utility plans to build a new substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, along Racine County Highway H just east of the Foxconn campus, as well as high-voltage power lines connecting to the new substation.

If the commission approves the project, construction on the substation would begin in late 2018 and in early 2019 on the transmission lines. Power would start flowing by late 2019 or early 2020.
