USA, Pittsburgh: Power management company Eaton has announced multiple contracts to provide engineering services, electrical distribution equipment and a solar inverter for a 1.9 MW solar project at Fort Campbell in Kentucky.
Under the contract, Eaton will provide power management solutions, including a direct-coupled Cooper Power series transformer, medium-voltage metal-enclosed switchgear and a 1670 kW solar inverter. Eaton will also provide construction services, electrical system commissioning and staff training, states the company in the press release.
The project is the first phase of a planned 5 MW solar array that will help the U.S. Army installation reduce operating costs while contributing to the renewable energy goals and energy independence.
The project is a result of collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy, the Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet, and Pennyrile Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation. Eaton received the contracts from Pennyrile.
