IEEE PES Transformers Committee to celebrate 100th anniversary

2017-11-19

The Spring 2018 Meeting of IEEE PES Transformers Committee will celebrate 100 years of transformer standards development, as well as the evolution of the Transformers Committee and all that it has accomplished.

The roots of the committee go back to 1918 when a subcommittee of Standards Committee ‘No 8 Transformers’ was formed to contribute to the Standardization Rules of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers (AIEE), the single common standard of the AIEE at that time.  AIEE and IRE (Institute of Radio Engineers) merged to form the IEEE in 1963, IEEE stated in the press announcement.

The Spring Meeting be held from March 25 to 29, 2018 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania will be attended by many IEEE PES dignitaries joining in the celebration.

All are welcome to join the meeting.
