EFACEC wins $12.6M transformer contract for Támega HE Complex

 Portugal-based EFACEC Energia has secured a $12.6 million (€11 million) contract from Iberdrola to construct and deliver transformers for the Gouvães, Alto Támega and Daivões power plants of the Támega Hydroelectric Complex.

The contract includes manufacture, supply, installation supervision and start-up of the individual transformers and transformer groups that will provide auxiliary services to the three power plants, reports CTBR.

The transformers are expected to be commissioned between 2021 and 2023.

Gouvães will be equipped with four 400 kV power transformers with a capacity of 245 MVA and two 20 kV transformers with a capacity of 5.6 MVA for auxiliary services.

Alto Támega Plant will receive two 400 kV power transformers with a capacity of 90 MVA and two 15 kV transformers with a capacity of 2.5 MVA.

Daivões will be equipped with two 400 kV power transformers with a capacity of 65 MVA and two 15 kV transformers with a capacity of 2.5 MVA.
