Downtown Kochi to receive new 220 kV substation

2017-10-27

India, Kerala: In an effort to provide uninterrupted power supply in the city of Kochi, Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) is planning to construct a 220 kV substation in Kaloor, a downtown region in the city.

The new substation, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, is expected to help reduce power interruptions and voltage fluctuations, reports The Times of India.

Currently, the 110 kV substation in Kaloor is serving most of the city.

The new substation will help provide support to other small substations and help bring down the transmission loss, according to KSEB officials.
