Barnaul invests $2 million in electrical network

 Russia, Altai Krai: Barnaul Grid Company will invest more than $2 million (100 million rubles) into a series of projects on overhaul and construction of new electrical networks for the regional centre Barnaul.

Most large-scale projects will be implemented in the new urban neighbourhoods of Bernaul 2009a and 2010, with a plan to build six transformer stations and distribution points, as well as lay underground power lines needed for new housing, reports Amic.

As part of the reconstruction of the substation Crystal in the industrial area, the company will carry out preparatory work for the installation of a third power transformer increasing the capacity of the substation from 50 MVA to 75 MVA.

Yesterday, the company commenced the installation of a modern substation for the needs of the Oncology Centre.

Overall, the annual plan of repairs will cover 186 substations and distribution points.
