BC Hydro to build new $37M substation in Kamloops

 Canada, British Columbia: BC Hydro announced plans to build a new substation to meet a growing demand for electricity in the city of Kamloops, British Columbia.

The new substation with power transformers and associated electrical equipment will be built on an industrial site off Bunker Road, close to existing transmission lines, reports Kamloops BC Now.

Construction of the new substation, at an estimated cost of USD 37 million, is scheduled to begin in the autumn of 2016, and expected to be in service in 2018.

BC Hydro is working on a design and will host a public information session later this year.
