BVT to supply transformer stations for wpd offshore farm

 Germany: wpd has begun the construction of an offshore wind farm in Nordergründe in German North Sea, laying the first monopile deep foundation at this 111 MW project.

Transformer stations for the project, built about 15 km from the north-east coast of island of Wangerooge in German North Sea, will be supplied by BVT, a Bremen-based company, reports EBR.

wpd will be responsible for the construction and operation of the farm, while Tennet will be the network operator for this project, and will be supplying the power through individual connection.

The commissioning of the wind farm is planned for the end of 2016.
