Abengoa wins $93M transmission project in Chile

 Chile: Chilean power transmission company, Transelec SA, has awarded the consortium made up of Abengoa and Kipreos Ingenieros a project to develop a new 500 kV transmission line and perform a number of upgrades on two electric substations in the Antofagasta region in Chile.

The consortium will be responsible for the engineering, supply and construction of the project that will start in September 2017, Abengoa said in a statement.

The project is worth $93 million and consists of a number of upgrade works to be undertaken at two substations, Los Changos and Kimal, as well as the construction of a 140 km high voltage transmission line that will connect the Kimal electric substation with the one at Los Changos.

The works are expected to be completed by the end of 2019.
