400 kV substation inaugurated with half capacity

2017-7-6

India, Uttar Pradesh: A 400 kV power substation was inaugurated in Bijnor's Swahedi village in Uttar Pradesh, however with only half its capacity as only one 200 MVA power transformer was installed.

The second 200 MVA transformer is expected to be delivered later this month, reports The Times of India.

Four transmission substations will be connected to this station.

Two substations, Bijnor and Chandpur, have already been connected, and after the second transformer is installed at Swahedi, two more transmission substations at Najibabad and Morna will also be connected with the new station.

Once this is done, Bijnor will be free of frequent trippings due to voltage fluctuations.
