240-tonne transformer transported by legendary German train

 Germany: A 240-tonne power transformer has been delivered from Halle, Leipzig to Grünstädtel by rail, using a historic locomotive and steam engine from the Deutsche Reichsbahn.

The oversize unit measured 10.5m in length, 4.65m in height and 3.7m in width, reports Heavy Lift.

The unit was the replacement transformer destined for the Markersbach power plant in Germany's Ore Mountains.
