WEG acquires Columbian Transformadores Suntec

 Brazil, Santa Catarina: WEG has announced the acquisition of Transformadores Suntec S.A.S., a Columbian power transformer manufacturer based in Medellin.

Founded in 1979, Suntec has wide experience in manufacturing oil and dry-type transformers, WEG states in the press release.

“Suntec has built a strong brand in the Colombian market, recognized for its competitiveness, product quality and delivery time,” said WEG Transmission & Distribution Managing Director, Mr. Carlos Prinz.

The new acquisition is an addition to WEG’s current production platforms in Brazil, Mexico and South Africa.
