Sudlows secures contract for Leeds Metropolitan University

AWARD winning UK based communications infrastructure specialist, Sudlows, has won the framework contract for the installation of Structured Cabling systems at Leeds Metropolitan University.
Ben Lavelle, Connectivity Divisional Director at Sudlows commented, “This is great news for Sudlows who have a proven track record of successfully delivering connectivity projects for a number of UK based Universities.”
“We are pleased to be able to provide Leeds Metropolitan University and its students with a flexible and resilient infrastructure that can support the ICT network across a dynamic learning environment, student services and accommodation, added Ben.
The University infrastructure consists of a combination of structured cabling and a blend of Blown and Conventional fibre systems to ensure that services to students and staff receive a fast and reliable bandwidth delivery.
Leeds Metropolitan University has two contrasting learning environments in Leeds. The traditional setting of one campus based in the sporting area of Headingley and one located at the city centre of Leeds.
Leeds Metropolitan University has around 26,000 students. The University’s award-winning learning environments include the iconic Rose Bowl building, awarded Best Commercial Property Development in the 2009 Yorkshire Property Awards; Broadcasting Place, winner of the 2010 Leeds Architecture Awards New Building category and voted the best tall building in the world in 2010 by the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and the pioneering Carnegie Village student accommodation.
