Statnett’s substation project awarded

 Finland, Helsinki: Eltel has won a substation contract for a turnkey delivery of a new 420 kV substation for Statnett, Norwegian state-owned power grid operator, reports Business Wire.

The substation contract valued at $8.4 million includes engineering, procurement, and construction of a new 420 kV substation, with power transformersand associated electrical equipment.

The new substation, located in Telemark at Vermorktoppen, will replace an existing substation built in 1972, which will be demolished as part of the contract.

The project will start in the spring of 2016 and continue into 2018.
