Siemens Weiz ships 4,000th transformer

 Austria, Weiz: Celebrating the 110th anniversary of the transformer factory in Weiz, Siemens also marked the shipment of its 4,000th manufactured power transformer.

The 150-ton transformer manufactured for the Chicago-based company ComEd, an energy delivery subsidiary of Exelon Corporation, will be delivered to the Danube Port of Linz by train, from where it will be shipped to USA, reports Kleine Zeitung.

Addressing the guests at the ceremony, Head of the Siemens Business Unit Transformer, Beatrix Natter stated that at the Weiz factory tradition and innovation perfectly blend and accompany each other.
