Scottish Power to revamp aged equipment in mid Cheshire

2017-7-26

United Kingdom, Scotland: Scottish Power will invest £10 million ($12.5 million) to boost power supplies across mid Cheshire and replace equipment which is more than 50 years old.

As part of the project, the utility company will first install new 33 kV cable in Hartford and Winsford, and then at the final stage a new grid transformer at Scottish Power’s existing substation in Winsford, reports Northwich Guardian.

The works are scheduled to start by the end of March.

The investment programme should facilitate future growth and demand needs across Winsford, Northwich and the surrounding areas, in addition to providing an increased resilience of supply to the existing 70,000 of homes and businesses.
