India, Himachal Pradesh: The HP State Electricity Board Ltd (HPSEBL) has restored power supply to the fire-ravaged 120 MW power project of the Sanjay Vidyut Pariyojna after five days.

The Kinnaur powerhouse was shut down as soon as the fire broke out due to the blast in the bush of the power transformer a few days ago.

The HPSEBL will hire a team of engineers from Switzerland to assess the damage to the gas-insulated multi-million switchyard which was burning at 70°C for more than three days after the fire burnt the 10 MWA transformer, reports The Tribune India.

The cost of the bush is nearly $1.5 million, while the power transformer which was reconditioned only a few days before the fire occurred costs $15 million.
