PMTT tests and ships 500 kV transformers

 Russia, St. Petersburg: The joint venture Power Machines - Toshiba. High-voltage transformers (PMTT) has manufactured and tested its first 500 kV transformers manufactured for the customer PJSC FGC UES.

The three 500 kV autotransformers with the capacity of 167 MVA each are intended for the upgrade of the Gazovaya substation in the Orenburg region, the manufacturer said in a statement.

The transformers have been shipped to the customer and the commissioning is planned to the end of 2016.

The continuation of this series will be four 500 kV, 267 MVA autotransformers ordered for the reconstruction of the substation at the Volzhskaya HPPoperated by RusHydro.
