Noida purchasing 50 transformers to improve power supply

2017-8-22

India, Noida: The Noida authority has approved the purchase of 50 transformers of 400 kVA to Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) to improve the power supply in the city.

A large number of transformers in Noida get frequently overloaded. According to the superintending engineer of PVVNL, over 1,000 out of 4,000 transformers in the city are often overloaded, causing malfunctioning and low voltage supply, reports Hindustan Times.

The new transformers will not only reduce the burden on the existing infrastructure but will also improve the reliability of power supply, officials said.

It will take around two months from the date of procurement to install and set up the transformers.
