New $32M Sao Paulo substation inaugurated

 Brazil, Sao Paulo: CPFL Energias Renovaveis SA has opened a new 800 MVA Morro Agudo substation which will facilitate the flow of biomass energy generation from Sao Paulo's countryside.

The investment in the new facility amounted to $32 million, while additional $32 million were invested in the associated reinforcements and improvements in distribution and transmission lines, reports Renewables Now.

The new substation will supply electricity to about 700,000 inhabitants around the Riberao Preto area.
