NGCP to invest $50 million in Mindanao coal plant’s transmission facility

2015-1-5 Business world

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) plans to invest US$ 50 million to develop a transmission facility for a new coal-fired power plant in Mindanao.

The investment will involve a new Kauswagan substation, the expansion of the existing Balo-i substation, and development of a new transmission line that will link the two substations.

“GNPower has already begun the construction of the power plant. Thus, in order for NGCP to ensure completion of the project in time for the test, commission and dispatch of the capacity, the Honorable Commission must allow immediate implementation of the project,” the company said.
