2016-1-3

Philippines, Nueva Vizcaya: To meet rapidly growing local power demand, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is implementing major power line projects costing close to $22 million in the Cagayan Valley region, including the expansion of existing substations.

The major ongoing projects in the region include the expansion of the substations in Santiago City and Tuguegarao City with additional power transformers, and the construction of a 230 kV Line 2 between the two cities.

Similarly, the newly completed upgrade of the Bayombong substation with the installation of an additional 75 MVA transformer is aimed to accommodate the increase of power demand in Ifugao and Nueva Vizcaya, especially with the operation of two mining companies there.
