Moscow energy system increased by 400 MVA

Russia, Moscow: Federal Grid Company has put into operation new equipment at the 500 kV Kaskadnaya substation, as part of the second stage of this newly built power station set up in the south-east of Moscow.
The new equipment includes four 220/10/10 kV power transformers with a capacity of 100 MVA, which has increased the installed capacity of the substation to 1,400 MVA, reports EnergyLand.
In 2013, the first stage was commissioned including two 500/220/10 kV autotransformers with the capacity of 500 MVA each.
The substation forms part of the Moscow electricity network backbone - Moscow Ring 500 kV.
