Madakkathara boosting its capacity with new power transformer

 India, Kerala: 400 kV Madakkathara substation in Thrissur, Kerala, is powering up with an addition of a new 315 MVA power transformer.

As part of the third-phase development of the substation, the installation of the new transformer will boost Madakkathara power capacity to 1,365 MVA, reports The New Indian Express.

The substation upgrade will benefit the population of 5,5 million in north Kerala districts of Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod, enabling better power supply for agricultural and industrial uses as well as helping reduce transmission losses.
