Indian state plans 249 new power substations

India, Maharashtra: Planning to revamp the entire electricity distribution network in the state, the Maharashtra state government has devised a multi-million plan to improve the distribution system and mitigate electricity losses.

The $225 million plan will see 249 new substations installed, reports Hindustan Times.

Funds will also be allocated for electricity generation through new and renewable energy sources.
