Hyosung fuses existing transformer manufacturing business with ICT

 South Korea, Seoul: Hyosung, South Korean manufacturer of electrical equipment, has introduced and merged information and communications technology (ICT) with its existing products for electric power industry.

A model case of such technical fusion is its smart transformer business. The mixed technology gathers big data from transformers to improve their operational efficiency and then predicts breakdowns in the products, reports Global Indonesian Voices.

Having completed the development of its smart transformer business in 2016, the company installed smart transformers at domestic electric power substations as a demo project, with positive responses from customers during their test runs.
