Hungarian transmission operator buys $2 million transformer from ABB

 Hungary, Budapest: Hungarian transmission system operator Mavir has announced it has bought a $2 million (€1.8 million) transformer from Switzerlandʼs ABB.

The new equipment is expected to secure the supply of electricity to areas south of Budapest, reports Budapest Business Journal.

According to the Hungarian news agency MTI, the transformer will be installed at Mavirʼs base in Martonvásár, near the capital, and begin operation at the end of May.
