First Philec leads SE Asia amorphous transformers market

 Philippines, Pasig: A Philippines’ manufacturer of distribution transformers First Philippine Electric Corp (First Philec), a subsidiary of First Philippine Holdings, sees itself as a leading Southeast Asian amorphous transformer manufacturer.

"With more than 50 per cent market share in the Philippines, we could easily be the largest Southeast Asian amorphous transformer manufacturer," says Ariel Ong, First Philec managing director, according to South China Morning Post.

Apart from producing a wide range of single- and three-phase transformers, the company offers packaged substations, switchgears and maintenance services for major electric power equipment.

First Philec is open to regional and global joint ventures, and is keen on partnering with other power transformer manufacturers.

"We are looking for long-term partners who are willing to invest in a mutually beneficial and brighter tomorrow," Ong says.
