New Zealand, Northland: An Enerpac EVO synchronous lifting system has helped weigh a power transformer of 109.5 tons at the Northland Port, New Zealand ensuring its tonnage came under local shipping port weight limits.
The hydraulic 12-point lifting, shifting and weighing system deployed by Machinery Movers Ltd was able to safely and precisely weigh the transformer verifying that it came within the Northland Port’s maximum lifting capacity of 110 tons, which enabled the transformer to be shipped off on its way to the customer in India.
This saved the manufacturer hundreds of thousands of dollars for engaging a special freight ship to India had the transformer weight exceeded the allowed tonnage, reports Marine Link.
The EVO-series synchronous shifting system integrates the involved high-pressure hydraulic cylinders with the Programmable Logic Control (PLC) system to monitor and control precise movement, positioning and weighing of heavy loads, enabling one operator to control the entire precision lift, shift and weighing process.
