Efficient dry-type transformers help power Mondi Swiecie’s mill

 Poland: New large dry-type transformers of 4.3 metres in height and 38 tons in weight have been installed and commissioned at the Polish containerboard manufacturer, Mondi Swiecie S.A., which should ensure a high level of energy efficiency and safety.

Two 20.5 kV, 25 MVA vacuum cast coil dry-type transformers, manufactured and supplied by ABB, are in line with the energy efficiency requirements set out by the European Union’s Ecodesign Directive, the manufacturer said in a statement.

For the factory, this means lower operating costs and noise levels.
