DolWin3 offshore converter station installed in the North Sea

 Germany: GE has completed its first offshore HVDC project, DolWin gamma converter platform, for the transmission system operator TenneT.

The DolWin3 offshore converter station has been installed in the south-western German North Sea, some 80 kilometres off the coast, the manufacturer said in a press release.

The platform will connect two wind farms, and transfer clean power from the north to over one million German households.

DolWin3 is the tenth out of twelve grid connections to be implemented by TenneT.
