China's grid corporation launches 230 kV power project in Myanmar

 Myanmar, Shwebo: State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) has started construction of the 230 kV Nabar-Shwebo-Ohntaw power transmission project in Shwebo, in Myanmar's northwestern Sagain region.

As part of the project, a new transmission line and a substation will be built, with power transformers and associated electrical equipment, which will provide access to electricity to 70,078 households in Kathar and Shwebo districts, reports XinhuaNet.

The project will be implemented by China Electric Power Equipment and Technology Co. Ltd (CET), a wholly-owned subsidiary of SGCC.

It is scheduled for completion by 2019.
